Brace Yourself! Club is Starting in 5 minutes! YAY!

October 17th, 2017 by

Hi Clubbers,

each Tuesday we do our best to stream our club meetings both on an audio (found on our blog sccclub.org), and as a youtube live steam on my business channel at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT1Nmuxo75AiKc-djqEeQoQ

You should be able to watch today’s meeting using the embedded video bellow. If you have any problems using this stuff in realtime, then come back later. I will be posting the audio as a podcast (or what we call the “ClubCast”), as well as, there should be a video archive on youtube.

Thanks for your interest and #TechOn!

October 10, 2017 :02: Now We’ve Got a Meeting!

October 12th, 2017 by

Hi Clubbers,

That was a great start to our season. We had a good size group and interesting conversation.

Please let me know if you want to bring in a projector or flat screen. We’ll need an extension cable and a surge protector. We also need better internet. I talked with Chino and he assured me they should have the internet issues sorted in the next week or so. I hope so. This meeting was streamed using my cell phone, and Telcel just dialed down my “unlimited” plan j to 128Kbps until the next billing cycle for having reached some fictitious limit. Anyway, we’re not going to do that again. However, this made prompt me to go over to the new AT&T Mexico.

Well, we had a lot of fun. We talked about Echo/Alexa and my experiences using it in Mexico. We talked about a lot of stuff, but Echo was my favorite.

I hope you guys enjoy it.

We’re Back! Again! Really! Honestly it’s the second meeting of our season!

October 10th, 2017 by

Hello Clubbers.

Today’s the day! The second meeting of this season.

Where was everybody last week,

We did do the first meeting of the San Carlos Computer Club last week, but it ended up being just Linda and myself. We didn’t have a live audio stream because of internet problems at my office, but I did stream it on Youtube and you can check it our at:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iXXwyIQOOg&feature=youtu.be&a (audio starts at 8m35s)

There were audio problems at the beginning. A special thanks to people in my office for letting us know and give us the chance to fix the problem. As a result the audio doesn’t start until around 8 minutes 35 seconds.

I do have a audio recording that I will add to our RSS feed so it can be found in iTunes, Google Play, or on this blog.

I hope everyone had an awesome summer, and I hope to see you guys at Tequila’s today at 9:15 for the San Carlos Computer Club.

We’re Back Baby!

Tech On!

October 3, 2017 :01: Where is Everybody?

October 3rd, 2017 by

Hi Clubbers,

I am finally getting last week’s meeting on the feed. Linda and I were surprised to find that we were the only ones to make it to our first meeting. Still we had a good conversation. It was all over the place, including talk about: internet connectivity in Tequila’s, Android TV, Kodi, DOL2, linux market shares, and more.

I hope you guys enjoy it.

April 18, 2017 :26: No More Kodi, Please!

April 18th, 2017 by

Hi Clubbers,

Second to last meeting of our season and our attendance is getting smaller. Next week will be my last meeting until October.

We’re still having Internet problems in the restaurant, and today we couldn’t get the audio stream up (a problem in my office, sorry.)

Still we had a good meeting. Interesting topics. such as:

  • Making a plan to introduce a video projector in the meeting.
  • The waitsuit from MIT to learn foreign languages while you wait; “micro-learning”. – http://news.mit.edu/2017/learn-language-while-you-wait-for-wifi-0417
  • A couple TV show recommendations: dark net and Black Mirror
  • DNS leaking while using VPNs. What it is and a website to test it with: dnsleaktest.com

Only one more meeting to go! Talk to you guys next Tuesday!
