Carollyne Haynes understands better than most the struggles many of our youngest neighbors in San Carlos experience in their lives. Join her as she shares how the intervention and care of social workers and care aides helped “put her back together” and survive a childhood of abandonment and abuse to thrive.
Carollyne values the importance of caring adults in the lives of children filled with
trauma and uncertainty. She appreciates the importance of a safe place for children to “just be kids”. Castaway Kids is grateful that Carollyne has offered to “tell us her story”. She will donate proceeds from sales of her two books (books
are $300p each or both for $500p) to our After School Club, a new program that
meets twice weekly after school, providing some of our most vulnerable children a
place to relax, play, have a healthy snack, and receive lots of hugs and attention.
